HOW IT ALL STARTED
Touched by the poverty in her country, HTO founder Lorna Fe Haas decided to devote herself to the street children of her home town Zamboanga City upon her return to the Philippines in 2011. With the encouragement and financial support of her Swiss friends, she started to build an orphanage.
The Holy Trinity Open House Foundation (formerly Holy Trinity Orphanage Foundation) is registered
with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Zamboanga City. The building
was completed in 2014.
An association to support the Holy Trinity Orphanage (HTO) was created in Switzerland in December 2014. The board of the Swiss association works in partnership with the founder and the board of the Holy Trinity Open House Foundation in Zamboanga City to assure a smooth running of the home.
Our goal is to find support to also provide a room dedicated to children's health, especially if they require isolation, observation or need therapy. Another room will be used for small social, religious or personal events. And finally, we would also like to be able to accommodate our staff and visitors in our new building.
